IBS

IBS is the most common gastrointestinal disease.

For the diagnosis of IBS, so-called Roman criteria are used – persistent abdominal pain should occur for a minimum of 3 days a month for a period of three months with three symptoms (such as reduction of pain after defecation, change in the appearance of stool and the frequency of bowel movements accompanied by pain).

Often these IBS symptoms are accompanied by bloating and excessive gas.
