Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) is an increase in blood pressure above normal levels. Hypertension can be diagnosed if the mean blood pressure values (calculated from at least two measurements made during at least two different visits to the doctor) are equal to or higher than 140 mm Hg for systolic pressure and / or 90 mm Hg for diastolic pressure. This ideal blood pressure is 120/80 mm Hg.
